The play also toured to the Latitude Festival - the first SJT production to have been produced at the annual festival, which is regarded as one of England's largest festival events. The play was performed on 13 July 2018 in the Cabaret Theatre at the Festival. This was its official first performance.
Although the play did not receive its official premiere at the SJT until 4 September, the play was performed for two nights in Scarborough on 24 / 25 July before touring to Edinburgh.
Build A Rocket won the the Holden Street Theatre's Edinburgh Fringe Award and was also chosen to open the Caledonian Express Festival in London from 21 - 23 September 2018.
2018 marked the first time every main house production during a summer season toured from the Stephen Joseph Theatre. Build A Rocket toured to the Latitude Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
During 2019, the production was revived with the same company and toured to the Holden Street Theatre, Adelaide, Australia, from 12 February to 17 March.
It also returned to the Stephen Joseph Theatre briefly in 2019 prior to touring.
